Is it still doesn't work use a different usb Turn on ps2 with Action replay and goto media player If your ps2 gets messed up its your problem not mine Here's the link to the best tutorial I've found so far: ''>' onclick='window.open(this.href) return false Sourceįree MCboot only installs on v1 - v10 ps2 some v11 work to
That's fine and all, but it would be nice to be able to just plug in an adapter (the PS2->PS3 adapter) and copy/backup saves that way. The best way I've seen so far is to use PS2 Save Builder and then use uLaunchELF to copy it over to the memory card from a USB Flash Drive.

So, what is the easiest way to get a save file from GameFAQs and transfer it over? Has anyone made a program to allow those PS2->PS3 memory card adapters work on a PC yet?Īll of the posts I found with a google search are about 2 years old, so I was wondering what the latest and greatest is.

(soon) FreeMCBoot via Swap Magic install method (soon) Swap Magic 3.6 (unless someone has a reason to get 3.8 instead)

MacBook Pro with Windows XP capabilities through Parallels or Bootcamp More flash drives than you can shake a stick at (ranging from 1GB to 8GB)
Magic Swap should let me burn the images as they are (as far as I know) and since I'd only be using it for a handful of expensive games, I shouldn't be using it that often. The portability of Free MCBoot is nice, but the patching and all of that seems like it will be so much trouble I would just as soon buy the game, not to mention it's possible that many games I would want to play wouldn't work. I just can't decide if it's worth messing with Free MCBoot or to just cut my losses and play games with Swap Magic since I already have it now. I would have to bring my PS2 slim to play it somewhere else you have to put the boot disc in first every time I have a PS2 slim and I can bypass the switches with solder in about 30 minutes and it'll be ready to go CD games must be converted to DVD format, which might not work for some games games require patching to work properly and many games don't work well or at all (not sure what the real numbers are) can be had free+shipping from many people online (or free if I could get the damn installer to work) can be used on any unmodded PS2, which means I could bring the memory card+DVD-R anywhere and play it So, here's the real question: which is really better, Free MCBoot or Swap Magic 3.6? I tried two different flash drives, but that could still be the culprit, but I have no idea what brand/type is ideal for this crap. I'm using the method to install it with Magic Swap, but every time I boot it with the flash drive plugged in, it just hangs at the boot screen. *sigh* after several attempts, I haven't been able to install Free MCBoot on my PS2 memory card.
